Project Targets |
The applicant proposed a 24-month pilot project on on-site food waste treatment in rural villages. 10 locations would be chosen from different rural villages to test the effectiveness of different food waste processing machines. The project would rent 10 food waste processing machines of which the suppliers would be selected by open tender. No more than 2 machines would be chosen from each supplier to ensure the machine diversity. Each of the machine would convert food waste into either compost or dehydrated food waste by using different technologies. Suppliers would further process the dehydrated food waste into compost. The readily used end product would be given out to the residents for free. For the leftover product, machine suppliers/ the applicant would be responsible for the distribution through their own networks, e.g. distribute to collaborating partner farms.
