Project Targets

The applicant conducted a trial programme to collect and deliver waste sports rubber balls to a local recycler for recycling into end products such as rubber derived fuel, rubberized paving blocks or rubber pads.

The major tasks of the project include:

  • Recruit 50 tennis court sites or sports clubs for collection 122 tonnes of waste sports rubber balls.
  • Conduct 100 on-site monitoring to participating tennis court sites and sport clubs regularly 
  • Recycle used waste sports rubber balls into 110 tonnes of rubber derived fuel / 193,000 pieces of rubberized paving blocks / 14,400 pieces of rubber pads
  • Prepare a short introductory video
